Among the 276 young women captured from their dormitories in april 2014, 82 of them have been released again. They were released after months of negotiation and interference across two continents in exchange for 5 leaders of the extremist islamist group boko haram. Though a thing of joy, there are concerns for their privacy and fears that less prominent prisoners held by this group would be forgotten.
The deal was negotiated by Mustapha Zanna, the Swiss government and Red Cross. The girls were picked up by the Red cross in branded T-shirts and flown to the capital territory Abuja. Out of the 276 girls kidnapped 57 escaped, then in october 2016, 21 girls were released, May this year 82 were also released leaving over 100 girls still missing. #BRINGBACKOURGIRLS.
