Fatima, the first of 8 children, is the first in her family to get to university studying to become an accountant.
Many of her cousins her age are married with children. Her parents are both uneducated. Fatima graduated as her school’s Amira, head girl and VP of several clubs and societies.
She was one of the few students to be accepted onto MIT/ Harvard’s impact lab program for youth.
Fatima supports all her 7 siblings, mostly girls, through her catering skills.
Because of her, all her siblings are in school.
According to UNICEF, one in every five of the world’s out-of-school children is in Nigeria. More than 70% of 10.5 million out-of-school children in Nigeria are in the North and more than 50% of these numbers are girls.
Fatima is one of the 5.25 million girls, who without Skills Outside School Foundation’s intervention would not have these opportunities.
They would lose out on education, remain disempowered, be married in their teens or worse, be abused.
Fatima is one of the students we have impacted through generous donations and support of amazing volunteers, mentors, trainers and other partners like you.
Would you be willing to impact more young people like Fatima?
Join us today to raise $5,000 before the 30th of September towards supporting 500 more Fatimas!!!

Augus 12th was marked globally as the International Youth Day (IYD) and we joined the world’s teeming youthful population to lend our voice to the very timely theme for the year tagged “ Transforming Food Systems; Youth Innovation and Planetary Health”.
Our interventions Heads, Rose Daniel, Shekinah Aziagba and Edidiong Simeon had a very robust conversation around dimensioning food systems along their value chains with respect to education, enterprise ,then innovation and challenges.
